Job summary

Hulcher Services Inc. in Denton, TX seeks a Director of Human Resources with strong labor relations experience to influence strategy and lead a HR team.

You will report directly to the CEO and shape people strategy while navigating union environments and collective bargaining. You will oversee employment, compensation, benefits, HRIS, training, and compliance, and guide executive decisions on labor relations and employee relations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years managing all HR functions, including labor and/or employee relations in a union environment.
• Experience with collective bargaining, grievance handling, arbitration, and investigating unfair labor practice and discrimination complaints.
• Proven ability to write official position statements.
• Strong communication skills for presenting to managers, officials, and regulators.

Responsibilities

• Build and execute HR strategies that align with company objectives and senior leadership.
• Lead the full HR function: employment, compensation, benefits, HRIS, training, compliance, and labor relations.
• Negotiate and interpret collective bargaining agreements, and handle grievances through arbitration.
• Investigate and respond to EEOC charges, unfair labor practice charges, and harassment/discrimination complaints.
• Represent the company before government agencies.
• Coach managers on labor and employee relations.
• Use wage and salary data to design competitive compensation plans.
• Work with outside legal counsel to ensure policies comply with federal and state law.
• Lead and develop a team including a Regional HR Manager, Recruiting Manager, and HR Manager.

Job Title: Director of Human Resources (Labor Relations / Union Environment)

Hulcher Services is looking for a Director of Human Resources who wants real influence, not just a title. You'll report directly to the CEO, lead a team of HR managers, and shape the people strategy behind our business. Requirements

What you bring

• 10+ years managing all HR functions, including labor and/or employee relations in a union environment
• Hands-on experience with collective bargaining, grievance handling, arbitration, and investigating unfair labor practice and discrimination complaints
• Proven skill writing official position statements
• Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Strong written and verbal communication, including presenting to managers, officials, and regulators
• Ability to travel up to 30% to division headquarters and job sites

Preferred

• Master's degree
• SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification
• Experience with international employment law

Physical requirements

Standard office environment with occasional job site visits that may involve variable weather, dust, and noise. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation.
