Job summary

Mental Health America of South Central Kansas is seeking a Director of Homeless Services to provide leadership for shelter-based services, supportive housing, and housing stability programs. You will oversee staff, contract performance, and participant outcomes, driving trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and person-centered practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Public Administration, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Five years of progressively responsible experience in homeless services, behavioral health, or a related field preferred.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience required.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care, community resources, and compliance requirements preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise staff, manage priorities, analyze problems, and implement solutions.
• Strong communication, documentation, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
