Job summary

NYC Health + Hospitals seeks a Director of Training - System-wide Security & Hospital Police to lead the Academy’s curriculum, training initiatives, and compliance across the health system. You will oversee program design, certification, budgeting, and KPI tracking while coordinating with NYS-DCJS and NYC-H+H leadership to ensure high-quality, compliant training for hospital police personnel.

Qualifications

Master’s Degree and five years of planning, workforce development and training programs, healthcare or public health administration related to training, and three of those years in a managerial capacity.
Bachelor’s Degree and six years of progressively responsible experience, four years in a managerial capacity related to training program development and implementation.
Current certifications or experience in criminal justice or law enforcement training programs are preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop curriculum that meets NYS DCJS standards across the health system.
Lead day-to-day operations of the training academy’s programs and initiatives for hospital police.
Identify and develop instructors, provide pathways to state certification, and maintain certifications.
Define strategic direction for advancing training programs and ensure alignment with NYC-H+H mission and goals.
Monitor and ensure compliance with NYS-DCJS requirements for peace officer and security guard certification.
