Job summary

The City of West Sacramento seeks its first Director of Homeless Response & Support to build and lead a new department focused on reducing homelessness and its impacts. You will set the department’s direction, recruit staff, and partner with county and regional systems of care to implement shelter, outreach, housing navigation, and grant-funded initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public administration, social work, public policy, sociology, psychology, or closely related field.
• A master’s degree is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, and coordinates homeless response programs and operations; sets department direction and performance measures.
• Oversees shelter, outreach, housing navigation, and grant-funded programs; manages budgets and contracts.
• Represents the City with regional partners, boards, and public.
