Job summary

Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory seeks an experienced Director of the Histology Core Facility to lead operations, personnel management, and strategic growth for a busy core serving basic and translational research programs in cancer biology, neuroscience, and spatial biology.

The role emphasizes building capabilities in digital pathology, image analysis, multiplex imaging, and integration with spatial biology across the institution, with collaboration across cores and investigators, and support for

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in biological sciences (PhD or MD) preferred.
• Experience leading a research core facility and personnel.
• Strong leadership, management, and collaboration across scientists and core facilities.
• Experience with digital pathology, image analysis, and quantitative workflows.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Histology Core Facility and manage personnel, projects, budgets, and customer interactions.
• Develop and execute a strategic vision to grow core capabilities, including digital and multiplex imaging.
• Collaborate with other cores and investigators to implement spatial biology workflows and advanced image analysis.
