Job summary

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) seeks an accomplished, internationally recognized leader in pathology to direct its Laboratory of Pathology (LP) within the CCR. This role is equivalent to a tenured academic department chair and commands oversight of all NIH anatomic pathology services and translational research.

Qualifications

• Board-certified pathologist with an MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent doctoral qualification.
• Established track record in the field with demonstrated leadership ability and mentoring.
• Experience overseeing complex pathology services and translational research.

Responsibilities

• Oversee anatomic pathology services for all NIH Institutes, including clinical trials.
• Provide vision for future emphasis aligned with CCR programs.
• Lead development of science-based biospecimen handling and repository initiatives.
