Job summary

Cardinal Health in the United States is seeking a Director of New Solutions Development to lead the creation, execution, and lifecycle management of customer-facing health solutions. You will drive strategy, governance, and cross-functional collaboration with sales, IT, and operations to deliver market-ready offerings.

The role reports to the VP of Marketing - Pharmaceutical and Specialty Solutions and requires strong leadership, financial modeling, and a track record of delivering new programs

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• 12+ years of experience in product development, product management, product marketing, or a closely-related field preferred.
• Experience developing customer-facing solutions for health systems, retail pharmacies and other pharmacy classes of trade preferred.
• Experience managing solutions portfolios, including governance and optimization.
• Strong ability to develop and execute business cases, financial models, and performance tracking.
• Team leadership experience, including leading other people leaders, strongly preferred.
• Experience partnering in a matrixed environment with senior leaders across Sales, Finance, IT, Operations, Marketing, Legal and Compliance.
• Background in software/product development methodologies or project management preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel as needed (10-15%).

Responsibilities

• Set strategic direction for the New Solutions Development function and ensure visibility across pharma commercial teams.
• Lead new solutions initiatives from ideation through launch and market readiness.
• Evolve the stage-gate process and lifecycle governance across the solutions portfolio.
• Develop and manage a pipeline of new solution ideas balancing innovation, capacity, and ROI.
• Analyze market trends and Voice of Customer to identify opportunities to expand the portfolio.
• Define technical requirements with IT and internal SMEs aligned to market needs and business goals.
• Collaborate with marketing and sales for go-to-market strategy and customer adoption.
• Drive financial commitments and business cases for new solutions with revenue and cost targets.
• Monitor performance of existing programs and identify value-enhancement opportunities.
• Lead transitions of new solutions to operational owners and ensure continuity.
