Job summary

Blue Cross Blue Shield Association in Chicago seeks a Director of Operations Excellence & Performance to lead four interrelated areas within Health Plan Operations. The role reports to the Senior Vice President and drives divisional planning, performance management, continuous improvement, and market/dual program strategy.

Responsibilities include designing the CI discipline, enterprise performance reporting, and cross-functional collaboration with Finance, Legal, and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 10+ years progressive experience in operations, process improvement, or performance management.
• Health plan/managed care operations experience across Medicare/Medicaid/dual-eligible lines preferred.
• Proven track record leading large-scale cross-functional improvement initiatives.
• Experience building performance reporting structures and executive accountability.

Responsibilities

• Own CI design and execution across Health Plan Operations programs including strategy standards and operating model.
• Lead Lean/Six Sigma projects, kaizen events, and DMAIC cycles across segments.
• Develop value-stream maps for core workflows and build a CI training curriculum.
• Own enterprise performance reporting, dashboards, and executive narratives for boards.
