Job summary

Zipline is seeking a Sr Manager / Director of Construction to build, grow, and lead the Ground Systems Construction function for charging sites and related ground infrastructure across active and future markets.

This role will hire and mentor construction managers, define the construction strategy, and drive construction outcomes across a broad portfolio while partnering with Finance, Legal, Procurement, Design Execution, Launch, and Operations to ensure alignment with business goals and launch

Qualifications

• Experience leading construction for physical infrastructure or similar capital projects.
• Experience managing construction managers or project teams.
• Understanding of GC management, trade partner management, and self-perform models.
• Proven track record building or improving a construction function, not just managing projects.
• Experience sourcing, evaluating, negotiating with multiple contractors across regions.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the Ground Systems Construction function for charging sites and related ground infrastructure.
• Hire, mentor, manage, and raise the bar for construction managers overseeing site-level work.
• Define construction strategy including use of general contractors and self-perform options.
• Own construction execution outcomes across a portfolio of projects and ensure readiness for launch or operations.
• Source and manage relationships with general contractors and trade partners nationwide.
• Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Procurement, Design, and Operations to align construction with business needs.
• Develop scalable systems: controls, reporting cadence, cost tracking, schedule reviews, and safety standards.
