Job summary

Nonprofit Finance Fund is seeking a Director of Specialized Accounting to lead grant accounting, NMTC accounting, and finance controls for a US-based remote role with occasional travel. The role partners with program, lending, and finance teams to ensure compliant reporting and accurate allocations.

The position emphasizes GAAP knowledge, restricted funds, audits, and collaboration across geographies, with a strong focus on grant and NMTC workstreams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related experience.
• 7+ years progressive accounting/finance experience.
• Experience with nonprofit GAAP, restricted fund accounting, and audits.
• Knowledge of federal grant compliance and reporting requirements.
• Strong Excel and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead grant accounting, compliance, and reporting for assigned grants.
• Ensure revenue recognition per GAAP, FASB, and 2 CFR 200.
• Maintain grant revenue, receivable schedules and GL reconciliation.
• Support NMTC accounting, fund reconciliations, and audits.
• Contribute to monthly close and process improvements.
