Job summary

The City of El Paso is seeking a CID Grant Funded Programs Director with a strong civil/structural/construction engineering background and 8+ years in engineering or federally funded public projects. The role requires leadership of a third-party administrator and oversight of multi-agency funded construction programs.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s in a relevant field; four years in a managerial capacity; and a preference for a Texas PE License.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural/Construction Engineering or related fields required.
Eight years of professional experience in engineering or federally funded projects in the public sector.
Texas PE License preferred.

Responsibilities

Direct and oversee third party administrator contracted to initiate and manage to completion City public works and transportation/infrastructure construction projects funded by federal, state and regional planning agencies.
Direct, plan, administer and oversee a citywide CIP budget of federally/state funded projects for construction, maintenance, upgrading and replacement of public buildings, transportation facilities and other City infrastructure.
Manage, direct, and oversee Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and FHWA funded programs and projects from identification to close-out.
Coordinate with TxDOT, MPO and other agencies to align projects with regional transportation planning and funding opportunities.
