Job Description: Director, Government Strategy & Planning

Role Overview: The Director, Government Strategy & Planning, part of the Market Access, Patient Services & Contracting team, will develop a global Patient Access strategy, lead cross-functional Value & Access teams, and formulate Market Access and Pricing & Contracting strategies for the assigned brand franchise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the lifecycle of in-line products to evolve Market Access strategies for mature products.
  • Collaborate with brand and account management teams to develop access-related marketing materials for payers and PBMs.
  • Analyze the impact of current and future policies (e.g., Inflation Reduction Act, CMS changes) on the portfolio and shape strategic responses.
  • Advise on market access, pricing, and reimbursement strategies, considering government policies for both existing and new products.
  • Educate and train cross-functional teams on market access evolution and best practices.
  • Assess how market access factors influence forecasts and net present value (NPV).
  • Adapt strategies to rapidly changing market dynamics and stakeholder landscapes.
  • Work with Finance on forecasts, data analysis, and strategic account planning.
  • Utilize knowledge of access dynamics, data, and insights to support Brand Plans through various access levers including payers, providers, and pharmacies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA or BS degree required; MBA preferred.
  • 10-12 years in project management within Market Access or related fields, with at least 7 years in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong understanding of government pricing principles (IRA, AMP, ASP, 340B, etc.).
  • Experience with market access considerations for pipeline products, including TPP, labeling, and packaging.
  • Business case management experience.
  • Deep knowledge of Brand Management and regional evolution.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and across borders.
  • Capability to assess government policy impacts on portfolios.
  • Strategic planning skills to identify market trends and solutions.

Travel & Location: Up to 20% travel required, primarily for field visits and meetings. Located in Princeton, NJ; remote work not available, but hybrid flexibility up to 50% remote work is offered.

Compensation & Benefits: Salary range $194,600 - $361,400/year, with potential bonuses, stock options, and comprehensive benefits including health, retirement, and paid time off.
