Position Overview

The Director, Government Strategy & Planning is a key member of the Market Access, Patient Services & Contracting team. This role involves developing a globally integrated Patient Access strategy focused on product differentiation, leading cross-functional value and access teams, and crafting the Market Access and Pricing & Contracting strategies for the assigned brand franchise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the Life Cycle of in-line products to adapt the Market Access Strategy as products mature.
  • Collaborate with brand and account management teams to develop access-related marketing materials for payers and PBMs.
  • Analyze the impact of policies (e.g., Inflation Reduction Act, CMS changes) on the portfolio and shape strategic policy initiatives with Government Affairs and Pricing teams.
  • Advise on market access, pricing, and reimbursement strategies, considering government policies for both existing and new products.
  • Educate and train cross-functional teams on market access evolution and best practices, including Medicare and payer considerations.
  • Assess how market access factors influence forecasts and NPV.
  • Adapt quickly to changing market dynamics, stakeholder needs, and product lifecycle stages.
  • Work with Finance on forecasts, data analytics, and strategic account planning.
  • Utilize knowledge of market access, data, and insights to support Brand Plans through various access levers.
Qualifications

Education:

  • BA or BS required; MBA preferred.

Work Experience:

  • 10-12 years in project management within Market Access or related fields, with at least 7 years in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong understanding of government pricing principles: IRA, AMP, ASP, 340B, etc.
  • Experience with market access considerations for pipeline products and business case management.
  • Deep knowledge of Brand Management across regions and cross-functional, trans-national collaboration skills.
Additional Details

Travel: Up to 20%, including field visits and conference attendance.

Location: Princeton, NJ, on-site; remote work not available. Preference for local candidates.

Sandoz offers a flexible hybrid work model, competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and a total compensation package that may include bonuses, stock units, and other perks. The salary range at start is $194,600 to $361,400/year, subject to market and individual factors.
