Job summary

Abbott seeks a Director of Supply Chain to oversee demand planning, lifecycle planning, purchasing, production scheduling, inventory, and logistics across product lines. You will lead managers, set goals, and drive cost-effective operations with a focus on timely delivery.

The role emphasizes continuous improvement, budget planning, and cross-functional collaboration in a highly matrixed global environment, ensuring high service levels and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration or supply chain.
• 12+ years of supply chain experience with progression in responsibilities.
• 7+ years experience leading supply chain teams.
• 5+ years in the medical device or other highly regulated industry.
• 7+ years experience with supply chain software.
• Experience with global supply chain teams including policy, procedure development, strategy formulation, regulatory compliance, quality systems and product life cycle planning.
• Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross division business unit model preferred.
• Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to provide constructive feedback to improve results.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across multiple levels.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and partner with key stakeholders to drive process improvement and meet business objectives.
• Lead supply chain department managers by setting goals aligned to annual operating plans and coaching.
• Foster continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration across divisions.
• Develop plans to optimize resources while maintaining service levels and inventory strength.
• Direct teams, remove obstacles, and ensure timely product delivery using cost-efficient processes.
• Analyze team recommendations and present annual plans for approval and execution.
• Prepare and manage the Supply Chain budget for assigned value streams.
• Identify opportunities to maximize synergies across global entities.
• Hire and retain a diverse, high-performing staff and maintain a safe work environment.
• Support Company-wide initiatives related to QMS, EMS, and regulatory requirements.
