Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior supply chain leader to design and implement cross-functional strategies across purchasing, planning, and sourcing in a manufacturing setting.

You will mentor managers, drive KPIs, optimize supplier relationships, and align demand with production to support growth and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field.
  • MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 5-7 years of leadership experience managing purchasing, planning, and sourcing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement strategies, production planning, inventory management, and supplier negotiations.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and data-driven decision making.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience operating in an ISO-13485 / FDA environment or similar regulated industry preferred.
  • APICS CPIM, CSCP, or similar supply chain certification preferred.
  • Strategic thinking and executive-level reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies supporting company growth, operational efficiency, and cost management
  • Lead and mentor the Purchasing Manager, Planning Manager, and Commodity Managers
  • Drive KPIs and performance metrics for purchasing, planning, and sourcing functions
  • Drive continuous improvement across supply chain operations
  • Oversee purchasing of raw materials, components, and services
  • Guide sourcing strategies, supplier negotiations, and long-term supplier partnerships
  • Manage supplier performance, risk mitigation, and contract negotiations
  • Identify cost-reduction and supply-base optimization opportunities
  • Supervise demand forecasting, production scheduling, and inventory management
  • Align sales forecasts, production capacity, and material availability
  • Implement inventory-control strategies
  • Develop relationships with key suppliers and strategic partners
  • Monitor supplier quality, delivery performance, and compliance
  • Lead supplier development and risk-mitigation initiatives
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and finance teams
  • Implement systems and processes improving supply-chain visibility and efficiency
  • Optimize ERP/MRP systems for supply-chain planning and procurement
  • Manage supply-chain budgets and cost performance
  • Provide leadership in make/buy decisions, cost modeling, and supply-chain risk analysis
