Reporting to VP Total Rewards, this role oversees over $1 billion in annual payroll for 18,000 associates worldwide, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing. The director will drive transformation through technology, automation, AI, analytics, and vendor optimization, aligning payroll with business priorities and risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred with 10+ years in payroll/HR operations.
• Deep expertise in payroll operations, payroll tax and accounting, wage and hour, SOX compliance.
• Knowledge of U.S. multi-state and international payroll models and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with Workday, HRIS/ERP, and analytics-driven payroll optimization.
• Ability to lead large transformation programs and manage budgets.
• Strong vendor management and regulatory risk oversight.

Responsibilities

• Set enterprise strategy for payroll, time and attendance, payroll tax and accounting.
• Serve as strategic HR advisor on payroll costs, compliance, associate experience, and performance.
• Lead payroll transformation programs to improve accuracy and scalability.
• Oversee governance, controls, audits, and regulatory reporting (SOX and taxes).
• Partner with HR and Operations to optimize workforce utilization and payroll accuracy.
• Drive Workday and payroll platform modernization and AI-enabled solutions.
• Develop payroll tech roadmaps and cost-management initiatives.
