Job summary

Addison Group seeks a Director of Global Payroll to lead payroll operations for the US and international subsidiaries of a fast-growing entertainment company. The role centers on ensuring accurate payroll processing, regulatory compliance, and cross-border payroll governance.

The position is located in the Los Angeles area with a hybrid schedule (2 days/week) and offers a pay range of $130,000–$200,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Extensive Workday experience and multi-state payroll oversight.
• Supervisory experience leading payroll teams.
• Experience with equity/commission payouts and related regulatory considerations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a payroll team; set service standards and escalation protocols.
• Oversee accurate processing of salaries, bonuses, and equity payouts across jurisdictions.
• Manage global payroll calendars, compliance, and audit-readiness.
• Partner with Legal, Finance, Tax, and HR on regulatory and risk matters.
• Own payroll controls, reconciliations, and vendor relationships.
• Drive automation, reporting, and system improvements (Workday, integrations).
• Lead payroll workstreams for M&A, reorgs, and system changes.

Job Title: Director, Global Payroll

Direct Reports: 3 Payroll Clerks

About The Role

Lead payroll operations across the US and international subsidiaries for a global, fast-growing entertainment company. US payroll runs in-house on Workday; international payroll is processed monthly via local providers with internal oversight. This is a temp-to-hire role — the team needs someone who can start quickly and may grow into the permanent seat.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a payroll team; set service standards and escalation protocols
• Oversee accurate processing of salaries, bonuses, commissions, equity, benefits, taxes, and garnishments across jurisdictions
• Manage global payroll calendars, compliance, and audit-readiness
• Partner with Legal, Finance, Tax, and HR on regulatory and risk matters
• Own payroll controls, reconciliations, and vendor relationships
• Drive automation, reporting, and system improvements (Workday, integrations)
• Lead payroll workstreams for M&A, reorgs, and system changes

Requirements
