Job summary

Merck & Co. seeks a Director, Global Clinical Supply to lead external vendor relationships and drive end-to-end packaging service line performance across GCS. You will shape supplier strategies, governance, and risk management to ensure alignment with pipeline objectives.

In this role you will influence across Procurement, Finance, Quality, and other support functions to enable transparent decision making, accountability, and value realization. Hybrid work option available.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in pharma environments with strategic leadership experience.
• 5+ years in clinical supply chain, packaging ops, or vendor mgmt.
• Knowledge of cGMP/GDP and FDA/EMEA regulations.
• Proven ability to drive supplier governance and continuous improvement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Define and advance partnership objectives with external vendors and partners.
• Oversee supplier deliverables, timelines, performance, risks, and opportunities.
• Ensure supplier capabilities align with GCS priorities and business needs.
• Lead through influence across a complex matrix org and enable partners.
• Drive process standardization and connectivity across GCS and external ops.
• Synthesize operational data into insights for senior leaders.
