Job summary

OpenFn is seeking its first Director of Fundraising to lead the organisation’s fundraising with major donors, foundations, and mission-aligned funders investing in Digital Public Goods and social-impact technology. You will build the function from the ground up, develop a fundraising strategy, and cultivate relationships to secure multi-year support.

You already have an existing network in international development and tech-for-good and will translate OpenFn’s mission into compelling funding

Qualifications

• 10+ years of fundraising experience in international development, global health, or tech-for-good environments.
• Demonstrated network with foundations, major donors, or institutional funders.
• Proven track record of securing significant gifts and multi-year funding commitments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication translating complex work into compelling case for support.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead OpenFn's fundraising strategy across major donors and foundations.
• Establish processes, systems, and reporting cadence for a growing fundraising function.
• Cultivate, steward, and grow relationships with funders and prospects.
• Draft proposals, narratives, and reports aligned to funder priorities.
• Engage in policy and Digital Public Goods ecosystems to unlock funding.
• Track pipeline, commitments, and funder engagement; ensure timely communications.
