Job summary

Rochester Regional Health seeks a Director of Facility Operations & Construction to lead the management of physical infrastructure and real estate, including ownership of Rochester sites and SME support for global locations.

The role includes directing facilities and Environmental Health & Safety staff, driving performance metrics, and guiding cross-functional process improvements. Strong project management, budget, and regulatory experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree and 5+ years’ experience OR 10+ years’ experience in Facility Operations.
• 5 years progressive leadership experience.
• Experience in project management, including construction and renovation projects.
• Knowledge of building infrastructure such as electrical and mechanical elements.
• Experience in managing a regulated operation, clinical laboratory environment preferred.
• Experience with CMMS and work order systems.
• AutoCAD experience a plus.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Maintain daily departmental performance by managing resources, prioritizing tasks, and developing metrics.
• Lead cross-functional process improvement initiatives to optimize operational capabilities.
• Provide training, coaching, and performance management for staff.
• Support global facilities with space planning, construction, and renovations.
• Manage major assets and CAPEX budgets across sites.
• Oversee site safety, regulatory inspections, and audits.
