Job summary

NTI – Nuclear Threat Initiative, Inc. is seeking a Director to lead the Global Biological Policy and Programs team. This hybrid, Washington, DC–based role focuses on reducing catastrophic biological risks by strengthening governance and biosecurity globally.

You will run the NTI | bio AIxBio Global Forum, manage budgets and deliverables, and build multi-stakeholder partnerships across governments, industry, academia, and civil society to advance practical risk reduction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; master’s preferred.
• 8+ years in policy, research, and/or project management in biosecurity or international affairs.
• Experience leading international multi-stakeholder projects.
• Experience managing at least one direct report.

Responsibilities

• Lead the NTI | bio AIxBio Global Forum and working groups.
• Design projects and forge partnerships with measurable outcomes.
• Set working group agendas for fast-moving AI in life sciences with safeguards.
• Manage the Forum’s budget, work plan, and deliverables.
• Build relationships across governments, industry, academia, and civil society.
• Shape risk-reduction approaches across the bioscience lifecycle.
• Oversee projects, budgets, and staff to meet strategic objectives.
• Collaborate with NTI’s Communications to translate complex topics for varied audiences.
