Job summary

NRDC seeks a Director, Global Benefits to lead strategy, design, and administration of health, welfare, retirement, leaves, and wellness programs. You will partner with leadership to balance employee needs, regulatory requirements, and financial sustainability.

You will oversee annual renewals, compliance, communications, budget, and cross-functional collaboration with Finance, Legal, Payroll, and DEI teams. The role requires strategic guidance and strong stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR management or equivalent.
• 7+ years in benefits management, with 3+ years of people management.
• Experience leading complete annual benefits renewals including strategy, data analysis, design, vendor negotiations, and communications.
• Knowledge of ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA and related benefits laws.
• Experience with 403(b) retirement plan governance and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Direct strategies for short- and long-range benefits objectives.
• Provide strategic vision for all employee benefits, wellness programs, and services.
• Evaluate plan design, affordability, utilization, and financial sustainability.
• Lead annual benefits renewal process end-to-end and communicate changes to employees.
• Oversee benefits budget and forecast program costs.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local benefits laws.
• Oversee 403(b) retirement plan governance and communications.
• Lead Benefits Team and drive career development.
