Job summary

NRDC is seeking a Benefits Director to lead strategic planning, design, and implementation of comprehensive benefits and wellness offerings. You will oversee day-to-day administration and strategic plan oversight, ensuring health, retirement, leave, and wellness programs align with NRDC’s mission and financial sustainability.

You will partner with People and DEI, Finance, Payroll, Legal, and external advisors to deliver compliant, competitive benefits across NRDC offices and international

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years in Benefits Management.
• 3+ years of people management experience.
• Knowledge of ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA and related laws.
• Experience with 403(b) retirement plans and audits.

Responsibilities

• Direct strategies for short- and long-range benefits objectives.
• Provide leadership with strategic vision for all benefit plans and services.
• Lead annual benefits renewal process from strategy to implementation.
• Develop and manage the Benefits operating budget and cost controls.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Oversee communications and education on benefits offerings.
