Job summary

Eli Lilly and Company is seeking a Director of Genomics Data Science & AI/ML to lead a team of PhD scientists responsible for pipeline-facing genomics analyses and for developing AI/ML methods. The role partners with wet lab genomics and cross-functional project teams to drive portfolio decisions and ensure rigorous, reproducible analyses across multiple modalities.

Qualifications

• PhD in bioinformatics, statistics, data science, or related field with relevant leadership experience.
• Proven track record in leading scientists and developing methods for large-scale genomics data.
• Strong background in machine learning for genomics and method evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee deployment of computational resources to enable drug discovery genomics efforts.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of PhD-level data scientists.
• Help set the team’s computational genomics and AI/ML strategy.
• Build scalable tools and workflows for portfolio decisions.
• Champion adoption of new analytical approaches across RNA Therapeutics.
