Eli Lilly and Company in San Diego seeks a Director of AI/ML for Generative Foundation Models to lead development of protein and antibody foundation models, validate performance against experiments, and guide a team of researchers and engineers.

You will manage training strategies, infrastructure, and collaboration with wet-lab scientists, driving progress from research prototypes to routines used by the scientific community. Competitive compensation and benefits are offered.

Formación

• Ph.D. in computer science, mathematics, physics, computational biology or related field with 3+ years post-PhD experience.
• First-author or equivalent contribution to structure-based generative models; end-to-end project leadership.
• Experience training deep learning models on multi-node infrastructure; strong Python and PyTorch.

Responsabilidades

• Lead generative AI and protein foundation model development.
• Set training strategy for pre-training and fine-tuning across architectures and model families.
• Design training infrastructure and scale workflows against LillyPod capacity; ensure reproducibility and throughput.
• Direct confidence/calibration work and align model performance with experimental outcomes.
