Job summary

WashU Medicine in St. Louis seeks a Director, Business Operation – GMP, to drive strategic growth and financial performance for genomic and molecular pathology services. You will lead budgeting, reimbursement, and cross‑functional collaboration across labs, clinicians, and hospital leadership.

The role emphasizes partnership with GMP division leadership to expand testing, optimize costs, and negotiate strategic agreements within the health system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• No specific professional license required for this position.
• 7+ years in Financial Accounting, Budgeting, and Auditing; 5+ years supervisory.
• Master's degree preferred; CMA/CPA licenses are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements short- and long-term business strategies for GMP testing.
• Creates financial models and monitors performance for new tests and programs.
• Prepares annual budgets and quarterly financial reporting with finance partners.
• Develops payer reimbursement strategies with revenue-cycle teams.
• Builds and maintains relationships with clinical labs, physicians, and service leaders.
• Plans long-term growth including capacity, space, staffing, and capital needs.
• Supports negotiation of contracts and service agreements with legal and finance teams.
• Represents GMP on departmental, school, hospital, and health-system committees.
