Job summary

Foundation Medicine seeks a Director of Molecular Pathology to lead oversight of CGP testing across sites in Boston, ensuring CAP/CLIA compliance and high-quality sequencing results. The role supervises molecular technologists, bioinformatics curation, and diagnostic medicine services, while coordinating with FMI teams to maintain rigorous post-pipeline analysis and patient care.

The ideal candidate holds MD with ABPath in Molecular Genetic Pathology and 5–6+ years of diagnostic medicine

Qualifications

• MD with ABP certification in Molecular Genetic Pathology
• 5–6+ years of diagnostic medicine experience after post-graduate training
• New York State CQ eligibility or certified in Oncology-Molecular and cellular tumor markers

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight for molecular genetic pathology testing at FMI sites, including wet-bench sequencing and post-pipeline curation.
• Ensure compliance with CAP/CLIA/NYS/ISO15189 and other standards; review QC data and validation studies.
• Collaborate across FMI teams to maintain quality, training, and patient-focused reporting.

Education

MD with American Board of Pathology certification in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology AND Molecular Genetic Pathology
