Job summary

Washington University in St. Louis seeks a collaborative Director, Business Operation – Genomic and Molecular Pathology to lead strategy, financial planning, and operations for GMP services. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum 7 years in Financial Accounting, Budgeting, and Auditing.
• 5+ years supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Growth: Develops and implements short- and long-term business strategies for genomic and molecular diagnostic services, identifying opportunities to expand testing within the health system and through external strategic partnerships.
• Financial Analysis & Performance: Develops business cases, financial models, and operational metrics for new tests, instrumentation, and programs; monitors financial performance to manage losses.
• Budgeting & Operations: Coordinates the division's operating budget, oversees annual budget prep and quarterly reporting with the finance team.
• Reimbursement Strategy: Develops payer reimbursement strategies, including coding, pricing, and coverage changes.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Maintains relationships with clinical labs, physicians, and service-line leaders to support diagnostic needs.
• Expansion Planning: Develops a long-term growth plan, assessing testing volumes, capacity, space, staffing, and technology needs.
• Contracts & Agreements: Supports and negotiates lab relationships and service agreements with legal and contracting teams.
• Committee Representation: Represents GMP Division on departmental and hospital committees related to strategy and performance.
