Job summary

Affinia Therapeutics is seeking a Senior Business Development & Licensing leader to help drive strategic evaluation, deal making, and licensing activities for its gene therapy platform and pipeline. The role is based in Waltham, MA with four in-office days per week.

You will lead cross-functional teams across R&D, commercial, legal, finance and strategy, manage due diligence, and structure transactions that align with the company’s strategy. Travel up to 30% may be required.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in a scientific discipline (MS/MD/PhD) is required.
• Graduate business degree (MBA) is a plus.
• 10+ years in pharma/biotech with at least 5+ years in BD or investment banking.
• Sell-side transactional experience demonstrated by a deal sheet.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate new business opportunities to partner Affinia’s discovery platform and products.
• Lead cross-functional due diligence with R&D, commercial, legal, finance and strategy teams.
• Prepare and present robust financial modeling and analyses to value assets and deal terms.
• Structure, negotiate and close transactions aligned with Affinia’s strategy.
• Support development of corporate, therapeutic area and product strategies.
• Represent Affinia at partnering and medical conferences.
• Build and maintain product and company data rooms to support deal making.
• Domestic and global travel up to 30%.
