Job summary

Sana Biotechnology is seeking a Senior Director, Business Development to lead and execute transactions that advance the company’s growth in engineered cell and gene therapy programs. Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in biotech/life sciences business development.
• Deep understanding of scientific, clinical, regulatory, and commercial dynamics relevant to therapeutic development.
• Proven track record of negotiating and closing complex transactions with cross-functional leadership.
• Ability to engage effectively with internal senior leadership and external stakeholders with executive-level visibility and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Lead or play a central role in executing BD transactions (in-/out-licensing, co-development/co-commercialization, collaborations, platform partnerships, option-based deals, supply agreements, licensing).
• Coordinate cross-functional diligence (R&D, clinical, regulatory, legal, IP, finance, commercial, executive leadership).
• Develop business cases, valuation frameworks, and transaction rationale for internal decisions.
• Structure, negotiate, and finalize term sheets and definitive agreements with legal and exec leadership.
