Job summary

Butterfly Network, Inc. seeks a Director of Full Stack Engineering to lead a distributed team building and scaling the Enterprise Clinical workflows platform.

You will own the technical direction, collaborate with Product/Design, and ensure secure, scalable software across onshore and offshore teams. You will partner with Product, Design, Data, Security and Compliance to shape the roadmap and drive execution while maintaining high standards of quality and observability in a HIPAA-compliant

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering with 3-5 years in engineering management or senior leadership.
• Proven track record of leading distributed engineering teams across multiple time zones.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, cloud architecture, and large-scale full stack web development.
• Strong product sense and ability to translate business problems into engineering plans.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills; comfortable presenting to senior leadership.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead, grow, and inspire a high-performing full stack engineering team across onshore and offshore locations.
• Define and drive the technical strategy and architecture for the Enterprise Clinical workflows platform.
• Own engineering roadmap execution with cross-functional partners to translate goals into plans.
• Recruit, retain, and develop top engineering talent; foster a high-performing culture.
• Establish and evolve engineering processes for code review, on-call, incidents, and cross-team collaboration.
• Serve as a senior technical voice contributing to architectural decisions and new technologies.
• Build strong cross-functional relationships with Product, Design, Data, Security, and Compliance.
• Drive observability, operational excellence, and HIPAA/PHI compliance across the platform.
