Job summary

Butterfly Network, Inc. in New York City seeks a Sr. Director of Software Engineering to lead a multi‑team organization spanning mobile, cloud and platform engineering.

You will set the technical vision, drive the roadmap, and partner with Product, Regulatory and Quality to deliver FDA‑regulated software powering the Butterfly ecosystem. You will grow engineering leaders, drive scalable processes, and ensure on‑time, high‑quality delivery.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering experience with senior leadership.
• 5+ years leading multi-team engineering organizations at Director/Sr. Director/VP level.
• Experience running engineering processes and orgs at scale.
• Equally comfortable with cloud/backend and mobile apps.
• FDA medical device experience.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver the software roadmap across mobile, cloud, and platform teams.
• Lead, grow, and develop a multi-team engineering organization.
• Define and evolve software architecture and standards.
• Attract, retain, and develop engineering talent at all levels.
• Partner with Product, Design, Regulatory, and Quality to ship compliant software.
• Design and manage internal processes for planning, execution, and delivery.
• Serve as technical and organizational leader to executives as needed.
• Champion ownership, quality, and continuous improvement.
