University of Maryland Baltimore County seeks a strategic Director of Foundation Engagement to grow the university’s foundation partnerships portfolio. You will lead portfolio strategy, cultivation, and high-value proposals, while mentoring staff and coordinating budgets and reporting.

The role reports to senior leadership and serves as a trusted advisor to deans and executives, guiding multi-year investments and donor stewardship across UMBC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business or related field.
• Five years of progressive fund development experience in foundation relations.
• Experience managing relationships with foundation funders and program officers.
• Experience coordinating LOIs, proposals, and grant budgets.

Responsabilités

• Lead portfolio strategy for foundation funders and high-value prospects.
• Determine cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies.
• Serve as primary contact for foundation program officers and executives.
• Provide guidance to faculty and internal partners on foundation readiness.
• Oversee proposal writing, budgets, and grant reporting.
• Develop post-award communications and impact reporting.
• Prepare for and conduct funder site visits.
