Job summary

Executive Jet Management, Inc. is seeking a Director of Flight Support to provide strategic oversight of operational planning, compliance, risk management, and support functions for safe and efficient flight operations.

Qualifications

  • 8–10 years of experience in aviation operations or related leadership roles.
  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation or Aviation Management.
  • FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate and/or Pilot Certificate preferred.
  • Ability to obtain EJM Operational Control qualification within one year.
  • Strong leadership and people-management experience (min 5 years).

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight of Flight Support operations, ensuring compliance with Part 135 and Part 91 regulations, company policies, and operational control requirements.
  • Develop and execute the long-term strategy for Flight Support, including organizational design, technology, process improvement, resource planning, and vendor management.
  • Lead, coach, and develop Flight Support leaders and team members, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Establish departmental goals, performance standards, and key operational metrics, ensuring alignment with Flight Center and Executive Leadership objectives.
  • Manage departmental budgets, resources, and investments to optimize performance, drive efficiency, and control costs.
  • Partner with Flight Operations, Maintenance, Safety, Training, and other stakeholders to standardize processes, enhance decision-making, and deliver seamless operational support.
  • Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and service level performance, ensuring accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement of third-party providers.
  • Drive enterprise risk management initiatives related to flight planning, airport suitability, operational feasibility, and trip support.

Purpose of Position

The Director, Flight Support provides strategic oversight of operational planning, compliance, risk management, and support functions that enable safe and efficient flight operations. Reporting to the Vice President, Flight Center, this role develops organizational strategy, leads Flight Support Managers, and drives operational excellence, service delivery, and continuous improvement in alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key member of the Flight Center leadership team, contributing to organizational strategy, workforce planning, and business objectives.

Education

Bachelor's in Aviation or Aviation Management

Certifications and Licenses

FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate and/or Pilot Certificate (Commercial or ATP) preferred. Candidates possessing both certifications are highly preferred, as they provide a comprehensive understanding of flight operations planning, execution, and operational decision-making.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience with a minimum of five years of people management, including the ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members.
  • Strong knowledge of business aviation operations, FAA regulations, air traffic control, the National Airspace System, and operational control principles.
  • Proven ability to make sound decisions that prioritize safety, compliance, and customer service while balancing operational demands.
  • Experience leading projects, technology initiatives, process improvements, and strategic planning efforts.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills with the ability to adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • Working knowledge of company operational manuals, policies, and procedures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and business management fundamentals.
  • Ability to obtain EJM Operational Control qualification and/or FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate within one year of hire.
  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Aviation Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field required; equivalent combination of relevant education and/or professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
