Job summary

CRST The Transportation Solution, Inc. in Cedar Rapids, IA seeks a Director - Fleet Maintenance to lead 24/7 breakdown operations and drive reliability across the Dedicated Solutions network.

You will manage maintenance leaders, shape strategy, and partner with operations to enhance customer service and equipment performance. The role requires extensive fleet maintenance leadership experience, strong DOT/OSHA/EPA knowledge, and a track record of cost and budget management.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive fleet maintenance leadership experience
• Experience leading maintenance managers or multi-location operations
• Strong knowledge of Class-8 maintenance operations and preventive maintenance programs
• Experience managing budgets, vendor relationships, and cost initiatives
• Understanding of DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, EPA requirements in fleet maintenance

Responsibilities

• Lead the Cedar Rapids-based 24/7 Breakdown Team and drive service levels across the network
• Oversee maintenance operations across fleets, locations, and functions
• Drive fleet reliability, uptime, and preventive maintenance compliance
• Develop maintenance leaders and build accountability and operational excellence
• Execute maintenance strategy aligned with customer commitments and business goals
• Own budgets, vendor relationships, and cost-efficiency initiatives
• Review significant repair decisions and escalated equipment issues
• Lead maintenance programs supporting fleet performance and safety compliance
