Job summary

New York City’s Department of Finance is seeking a dynamic Director of Fiscal Services to supervise daily operations of the Fiscal Services Unit, including accounts payable, reimbursements, and the Imprest Fund. The role emphasizes executing city-wide directives, internal controls, and timely payment processing.

The candidate will report to the Assistant Commissioner of Financial Management and will participate in delivering financial reports to executive leadership, while guiding staff

Qualifications

• Requires master's degree with 2 years of professional experience in budget/financial administration or related field; 18 months in supervisory capacity.
• Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree with 4 years of professional experience including 18 months in executive/administrative supervision.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the Fiscal Services Unit.
• Oversee invoice review and payment voucher processing.
• Direct imprest fund, reimbursements, and travel processes.
• Provide financial reports to Executive staff for decision making.
• Represent agency with Comptroller's office and other oversight bodies.
• Serve as SME for Comptroller Directives and related fiscal guidance.
• Develop and maintain systems, procedures, and internal controls.
• Lead PASSPort implementation within the unit.
• Resolve vendor payment issues with administrative partners.
• Train employees to enhance performance and career growth.
