Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal is seeking a Director to lead private-equity and corporate buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence engagements across multiple U.S. locations. You will guide Associates and Managers, oversee QOE, P&L and working capital analyses, and ensure high-quality, risk-aware insights for clients.

A strong track record at a top firm, CPA status, and fluency with US GAAP are required. The role is based in major U.S.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of financial accounting due diligence experience at a top accounting firm.
• CPA or in the process of obtaining one.
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, and purchase accounting.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong project management skills.
• Flexibility to work as both a team member in a collaborative setting and as an individual contributor.
• Ability to thrive and be effective in fast-paced settings.

Responsibilities

• Counsel and mentor Associates, Senior Associates and Managers.
• Effectively lead the team in conversations with clients and lenders.
• Manage and prioritize team responsibilities and proactively consult with Managing Directors and senior members of the team as appropriate.
• Oversee all aspects of deals with limited guidance from Managing Directors.
• Identify potential transaction risks and implement strategies to address risks.
• Generate a full due diligence report.
• Lead the Quality of Earnings, P&L and Working Capital analyses.
• Communicate regularly with clients regarding engagement matters and scope changes.
• Develop and propose creative solutions to engagement and transaction risks.
