Kent State University is seeking a Director of Financial Aid Programs and Administration to lead the Student Financial Aid Department on the Kent Campus. You will report to the Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management, Scholarships and Financial Aid and oversee a team of staff to ensure timely and compliant aid packaging and awarding.

The role requires a Master’s degree and 6+ years in financial aid, including supervisory experience.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in higher education administration, public administration, business administration, or a relevant field.
  • Six or more years of progressively responsible experience in student financial aid in higher education to include two years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, coordination, and supervision for activities of the Student Financial Aid department; oversee personnel.
  • Develop department goals, objectives, and strategies; create programs to improve recruitment and retention.
  • Develop annual student aid packaging and awarding guidelines; ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Assist with annual audits, program reviews, FISAP, final reconciliations and other required reports.
  • Manage internal and external communications for financial aid information; maintain website and portal content.
  • Serve as liaison with university offices to resolve inter-departmental conflicts and ensure timely aid awarding.
