Job summary

Universal Technical Institute, Inc. is seeking a Director of Financial Aid to lead the campus Financial Aid office in West Jordan, Utah.

The role focuses on compliance with federal/state regulations, team mentoring, and collaboration across campus to support access and student success. The ideal candidate will have extensive post-secondary financial aid leadership experience, strong regulatory knowledge, and a collaborative approach to align enrollment with student outcomes.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma/GED with 10+ years post-secondary experience or Bachelor's with 6+ years post-secondary experience.
  • Strong understanding of federal/state aid programs and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Master’s degree or NASFAA credentials preferred.
  • Minimum five years supervisory/leadership experience in financial aid operations.
  • Minimum five years’ experience administering Title IV financial aid programs.
  • Proven track record of process improvement and cross-department collaboration.

  • Lead and develop the financial aid team to foster a high-performing, student-focused culture.
  • Oversee all financial aid operations to ensure efficiency and compliance with laws and institutional policies.
  • Build and implement strategic processes that increase accuracy and operational excellence.
  • Guide students and families through financial aid options including grants, loans, scholarships, and work-study.
  • Promote financial literacy and make the aid process transparent and supportive.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with Title IV and other federal/state regulations.
  • Collaborate with Admissions, Student Services, Registrar and leadership to align aid with enrollment and student success goals.
  • Monitor trends, analyze data, and lead continuous improvements.

Compensation & Benefits
  • $100,000 -$105,000 per year

Quaifications
Who You Are - Qualifications
Required
  • HS diploma/GED and a minimum of 10 years professional experience in a post‑secondary education setting - or - Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field and a minimum of six (6) years professional experience in a post‑secondary education setting
  • Strong understanding of federal/state aid programs and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
Preferred
  • Master’s degree or advanced professional credentials (e.g., Title IV‑related certifications, NASFAA credentials).
  • Minimum five (5) years of supervisory/leadership experience in financial aid operations
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience administering Title IV financial aid programs
  • Proven track record of process improvement and cross‑department collaboration.

The salary range for this position is designated at $100,000-$105,000 per year.
