Job summary

VUMI is seeking a Director, Finance Transformation, Systems & Reporting to lead modernization of financial reporting, systems, and business processes. This hands-on, individual-contributor role will oversee the implementation of a new general ledger, development of reporting from a new operating system, and redesign of finance processes.

You will report to the CFO and collaborate with Finance, Accounting, Operations, IT, and external consultants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or related field.
• Significant experience in accounting, financial reporting, controllership, finance transformation, financial systems or business process improvement.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial controls.
• Experience developing financial reporting from operational or business systems.
• Demonstrated experience redesigning and improving finance and business processes.
• Ability to understand the flow of operational transactions through accounting systems and ultimately into financial reporting.
• Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to translate business and Finance requirements into practical system and reporting solutions.
• Ability to work effectively across Finance, Operations, IT, and senior management.
• Comfortable operating as a hands-on senior individual contributor.
• Experience in international health insurance, South American operations and a multi-national organization.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Improve accuracy, timeliness, consistency, and effectiveness of financial and management reporting.
• Identify and resolve financial reporting, accounting, reconciliation, and process issues.
• Lead key Finance activities related to implementation of a new general ledger and data mapping.
• Lead design and development of financial reporting from the new operating system.
• Define reporting, data, reconciliation, and control requirements for the new OS.
• Ensure integration and reconciliation between OS and general ledger.
• Redesign finance and related business processes to improve efficiency and controls.
• Identify opportunities to eliminate manual processes and duplicate work.
• Strengthen month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and reporting procedures.
• Lead cross-functional transformation projects from design to stabilization.
• Partner with Finance, Operations, IT, system vendors, and consultants for adoption of new processes.
• Provide updates to CFO and senior management.
