Job summary

Seaboard Foods in Merriam, KS seeks a Director of Further Processor Field Sales to drive new business development, strengthen customer relationships and lead growth across pork product categories. You will identify opportunities, resolve customer challenges, and guide team members in strategic decisions while traveling as needed.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in sales or product management, knowledge of protein packing operations, and strong interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales or product management is required (10+ years).
• Knowledge of protein packing plant operations and pork product specifications.
• Excellent listening, negotiating, presentation and analytical skills.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Promote and sell fresh and frozen pork products.
• Guide team members directionally in business decisions.
• Accompany customers on plant tours as needed.
• Identify new business opportunities and conduct 20–30 customer visits annually.
• Analyze market conditions for supply, demand and cash markets.
• Collaborate with production and QA to resolve product specification issues.
• Cross-train and cover with all processor sales associates as needed.
• Monitor and report on sales performance and trends.
• Drive initiatives to expand offerings and enter new markets.
