Job summary

Aecon’s Charlotte, NC office seeks a Director, Subcontract Management to lead the federal subcontracts function for DoD/DOE projects. You will shape processes, ensure compliant formation and administration of subcontracts, and coordinate with project teams for timely, cost-effective delivery.

The role requires extensive federal contracting knowledge, strong leadership, and the ability to obtain necessary clearances. Hybrid work arrangement in Charlotte supports collaboration and project focus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in subcontractor management, with federal projects.
• 5+ years leading a subcontracts function.
• Deep knowledge of CAS, FAR, DFARS and DEAR.
• Experience with DoD, DOE or other federal customers preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree required; PMP or related certification preferred.
• Proven track record in large-scale construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the federal subcontracts organization for compliant execution.
• Ensure subcontracts comply with CAS, FAR, DFARS, DEAR and flow-downs.
• Oversee issuance of subcontract POs via SAP with flow-downs.
• Prepare and review subcontractor agreements and mitigate risks.
• Monitor performance and conduct site visits for safety/quality.
• Manage invoicing and payments with project managers.
• Develop subcontracts policies, templates and reports.
