Job summary

Akima, LLC is seeking a Director of Business Development – Federal Construction to drive growth within the Construction and Security Solutions Group. The role emphasizes establishing relationships with federal clients, shaping opportunities, and leading capture and proposal efforts across full lifecycle engagements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in securing sole-source and 8(a) awards, deep knowledge of DoD/US government contracting practices, and the ability to translate

Qualifications

• Ten or more years of progressive business development experience focused on federal construction and/or facility modernization.
• Experience with ANC 8(a) direct award authorities and federal contracting vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute growth strategies aligned with CSSG’s plan and drive annual sales.
• Maintain relationships with government stakeholders and industry partners across Akima’s construction portfolio.
• Identify, evaluate, qualify, and maintain a pipeline of federal construction and renovation opportunities; prioritize pursuits.
• Lead BD and capture activities from identification through award, including win-strategy development and proposals readiness.
• Engage federal customers early to understand mission needs and procurement approaches, positioning Akima as a trusted partner.
