The successful candidate will be a highly organized and independent professional who takes ownership of their work, exercises sound judgment, and is comfortable handling confidential financial information. The family office operates alongside a family-owned investment organization and offers an opportunity for someone who wants to develop a long-term career with increasing responsibility.

Over time, the scope of the position may expand beyond core financial and administrative responsibilities into areas of investment analysis and portfolio management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare consolidated financial information, cash flow projections, and other analyses used for tax, estate, liquidity, and investment planning.

  • Manage or oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and related financial administration for family members, investment entities, and two small operating businesses.

  • Coordinate tax compliance and planning activities with an external Big Four accounting firm.

  • Prepare and organize financial information, tax basis schedules, projections, and supporting documentation for external tax advisors.

  • Review individual, trust, and entity tax returns and assist with identifying and addressing complex tax issues.

  • Coordinate tax filings, compliance requirements, and other deadlines while contributing to tax planning and related decision-making.

Family Office & Financial Administration

  • Serve as a primary point of contact with banks, investment firms, asset managers, attorneys, tax professionals, and other outside advisors.

  • Coordinate financial and administrative matters on behalf of family members and related entities.

  • Oversee vendor relationships, payment activity, and other ongoing family office administrative functions.

  • Maintain accurate financial records, documentation, and compliance information using established technology and document management systems.

  • Handle sensitive financial and personal information with a high degree of discretion and confidentiality.

Investment & Portfolio Support

  • Assist with ongoing investment reporting, performance monitoring, and analysis in coordination with internal stakeholders and external investment service providers.

  • Review investment statements and related information and help maintain systems used to track portfolio performance and asset information.

  • Perform research and financial analysis related to asset allocation, investment opportunities, and investment manager selection.

  • Support the evaluation of investment strategies and managers as directed.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA designation strongly preferred.

  • At least five years of relevant experience in areas such as tax advisory, family office accounting, private client services, public accounting, or a similar professional environment.

  • Strong working knowledge of taxation involving individuals, trusts, partnerships, corporations, and other entities.

  • Advanced Excel skills and demonstrated proficiency with accounting, financial reporting, and document management systems.

  • Exceptional integrity and discretion when handling confidential financial and family matters.

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and a demonstrated commitment to producing accurate, complete work.

  • Strong analytical and critical‑thinking capabilities with the ability to independently identify issues and develop solutions.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to establish credibility and develop effective working relationships with family members, investment professionals, attorneys, accountants, vendors, and other advisors.
