Job summary

Society of St. Vincent de Paul Detroit is seeking a Facilities Manager to ensure all facilities are fully operational and compliant.

You will manage maintenance schedules, oversee preventative programs, supervise repairs, and coordinate with store managers on closures for improvements. The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 3–5 years in facilities management, with strong procurement, project management, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or equivalent facilities experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in facilities, management or equivalent related functions.
• Knowledge of OSHA and other environmental regulations.
• Knowledge of general maintenance methods, operating requirements, and safety precautions related to facilities management.
• Well-organized, detail-oriented, and strong communicator.
• Effective project management and written communication skills.
• Self-starter with minimal supervision.
• Strong procurement and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure each facility is fully operational with all utilities functioning properly and efficiently.
• Develop and maintain maintenance schedules and logs for each facility.
• Oversee annual preventative maintenance programs at each facility.
• Schedule and supervise repairs; assist with installation checks of equipment like forklifts.
• Maintain HVAC equipment including boilers, rooftops, and VAV units.
• Communicate with leadership before any temporary closing or interruptions due to repairs.
• Oversee repairs by Camp facilities coordinators at Camp Ozanam and Camp Stapleton.
• Develop and implement housekeeping, grounds, fire, safety, and security policies.
• Prepare emergency procedures and train staff quarterly.
• Maintain signage, supplies, and competitive pricing for fixtures.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and Worker's Comp regulations.
• Create and manage three-year capital investment plans for facilities.
