Job summary

Gila County is seeking a seasoned Facility Management Director to lead the team responsible for a safe, clean, and compliant public work environment for officials, employees, and the public. The role centers on strategic planning, capital projects, and land management across the county.

The position directs budgeting, contracts, and safety programs, collaborates with the Board of Supervisors, and aligns facilities with the county's strategic goals while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or related field; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Five (5) or more years of progressively responsible experience in facilities management, capital construction, or infrastructure operations, with at least two years in a supervisory/leadership role.
• Professional credentials such as CFM, FMP, CCM, PMP, CPM or similar are preferred. Must possess a valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Leads capital construction program planning, design and delivery of multi-million dollar projects to meet objectives, budget, schedule and regulatory compliance.
• Leads, mentors and evaluates staff to provide fiscally responsible facility management across county buildings and public venues.
• Sets strategic goals for Facility Management Division and prioritizes upkeep, maintenance, repair, remodel and construction of facilities including admin buildings and community venues.
• Negotiates and administers contracts for capital and facility projects, including RFP/RFQ processes and compliance monitoring.
• Prepares and presents the annual budget and a 5-year outlook for facility management needs.
• Coordinates with Board of Supervisors and county leadership to identify needs and prioritize improvements.
• Oversees building access security and safety/environmental programs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
