Job summary

World Fuel in Miami seeks a Director of Executive Compensation to design and govern its executive pay programs, oversee equity awards and long-term incentives, and partner with senior leadership.

You will lead a team, ensure regulatory compliance, prepare materials for the Compensation Committee and Board, and manage external consultants and vendors.

The role requires strong analytical skills, advanced Excel/PowerPoint, and CEP/CCP preferred, with 8+ years in executive compensation and leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Finance, Business Administration or related field required.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in executive compensation and equity administration.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing compensation or reward teams.
  • Strong knowledge of executive compensation design, long-term incentives, equity plans, SEC reporting and governance.
  • Experience supporting Compensation Committees, Boards and senior executives.
  • Excellent analytical, modeling, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • CCP and/or CEP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage executive compensation analysis, modeling, budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
  • Support Committee and Board meetings with materials, analyses and recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with SEC regulations, equity plan requirements and governance standards.
  • Oversee disclosures, proxy statements and related reporting requirements.
  • Manage relationships with compensation consultants, vendors, legal counsel and tax advisors.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, Accounting, Legal, Payroll and Tax teams on compensation matters.
  • Lead process improvements and maintain controls for audits.

Position Summary

The Director, Executive Compensation is responsible for the design, administration, governance, and communication of executive compensation and long-term incentive programs. This role serves as a strategic partner to senior leadership, supporting compensation programs for the C-Suite and Named Executive Officers (NEOs). The Director will oversee equity compensation programs, executive compensation analysis, regulatory compliance, Board and Compensation Committee support, and vendor management. This leader will also manage the Executive Compensation and Equity Administration team and drive continuous improvement across compensation processes and programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, administration, and governance of executive compensation and long-term incentive (LTI) programs.
  • Partner with senior leadership and the Compensation Committee to develop competitive and market-aligned compensation strategies for NEOs and executives.
  • Oversee all aspects of equity plan administration, including restricted stock, performance-based awards, stock options, and other equity programs.
  • Manage executive compensation analysis, modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Support Compensation Committee and Board meetings through the preparation of executive compensation materials, analyses, and recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with SEC regulations, equity plan requirements, tax laws, and corporate governance standards.
  • Oversee executive compensation disclosures, including proxy statement support, CD&A preparation, and related reporting requirements.
  • Manage relationships with external partners, including compensation consultants, equity administration vendors, transfer agents, legal counsel, and tax advisors.
  • Partner closely with HR, Finance, Accounting, Legal, Payroll, and Tax teams on executive and equity compensation matters.
  • Lead process improvements, maintain strong internal controls, and support internal and external audit requirements.
  • Develop, mentor, and lead a high-performing Executive Compensation and Equity Administration team.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in executive compensation, equity administration, and compensation strategy, preferably within a publicly traded company.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing compensation or reward teams.
  • Strong knowledge of executive compensation design, long-term incentives, equity plans, SEC reporting, and corporate governance.
  • Experience supporting Compensation Committees, Boards of Directors, and senior executives.
  • Excellent analytical, financial modeling, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • CCP and/or CEP certification preferred.
