Qualifications

Job description

We are supporting a rapidly growing power infrastructure developer, owner, and operator on their search for a Director, EPC Contracts. This role will lead EPC contract strategy, commercial negotiations, RFP execution, risk management, and project commercial oversight for large-scale power generation and data center developments. The position serves as a key bridge between development, origination, engineering, finance, and project execution teams, helping ensure projects are commercially optimized, financeable, and executable.

Responsibilities

• Lead EPC commercial contracting activities across large-scale power generation and data center infrastructure projects
• Develop procurement and commercial strategies that support project economics, risk mitigation, and long-term enterprise value creation
• Manage the full EPC contracting lifecycle, including scoping, RFP development, bid evaluations, negotiations, contract execution, and change management
• Review and negotiate commercial terms, conditions, risk allocation provisions, and project contractual structures
• Develop scope matrices, commercial exhibits, and bid packages to support contractor selection and project execution
• Conduct contract reviews and risk assessments to identify technical, commercial, and execution-related risks
• Build preliminary project schedules, cost models, commercial analyses, and cash flow frameworks to support project decision-making
• Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, commercial metrics, and financial performance reporting
• Support lender, investor, customer, and offtaker due diligence processes related to project financing and commercial execution
• Manage contractor and vendor prequalification efforts and support strategic supplier selection
• Coordinate proposal development activities, bid communications, and contract documentation across internal and external stakeholders
• Collaborate closely with development, origination, finance, technical solutions, regulatory, engineering, and executive leadership teams
• Manage external consultants, engineering firms, and third-party advisors supporting project development and execution
• Drive continuous improvement across commercial contracting, project controls, risk management, and procurement processes
• Ensure projects remain aligned with schedule, budget, quality, and commercial objectives throughout development and execution

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, business, or a related discipline
• 15+ years of commercial, contracting, project development, EPC, or related experience within power, energy, infrastructure, utilities, or industrial sectors
• Proven experience negotiating and managing large-scale EPC contracts and capital projects exceeding $100M
• Strong understanding of contract structures, risk allocation, project economics, commercial negotiations, and change management
• Experience supporting power generation, energy infrastructure, industrial, utility, or mission-critical development projects
• Strong financial, analytical, and commercial decision-making capabilities
• Excellent communication, technical writing, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills
• Ability to work effectively across executive leadership, operations, legal, finance, engineering, development, and external partner teams
• Experience operating within fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and growth-oriented environments

Preferred Skills & Attributes

• MBA or other advanced degree
• Experience supporting data center, microgrid, backup power, or mission-critical infrastructure projects
• Background in natural gas generation, distributed generation, power infrastructure, or utility-scale energy projects
• Strong knowledge of EPC procurement, project controls, commercial contracting, and construction execution
• Experience supporting project financing, investor diligence, lender reviews, and offtake negotiations
• Understanding of pricing strategy, capital project evaluation, operational readiness, and commercial risk management
• Proven ability to build processes, structure, and accountability within growing organizations
