Transamerica is seeking an experienced IT leader to guide enterprise web and cloud development, shaping architecture and technology strategy across multiple lines of business. You will mentor teams, manage budgets, and partner with senior leaders to deliver value through efficient development resources.

The role emphasizes driving change, adopting new practices, and ensuring high-quality, scalable solutions while aligning with enterprise goals and governance standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• Ten years of experience with database design techniques, distributed applications, and microservices.
• Eight years of experience in delivering large-scale design projects with cross-functional interaction.
• Six years of experience managing a diverse team and leading cross-functional teams.
• Strong background in DevOps practices, CI/CD, and architecture strategy.
• Experience managing vendor relationships, including evaluations and negotiations.
• Familiarity with modern UI development frameworks (Angular, React, Vue.js) and web technologies (HTTP, HTML, JS, CSS).
• Strong communication skills to deliver information to the Board, executives, and employees.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and leadership to development teams to deliver quality enterprise solutions.
• Interact with executive management to develop strategic direction for the department.
• Translate strategic priorities into tactical action plans and milestones with cross-functional leaders.
• Act as a strategist and champion for enterprise architecture and design principles.
• Lead white board discussions and presentations with stakeholders and enterprise architecture teams.
• Identify opportunities to leverage third-party frameworks, open source libraries, and APIs in agile development.
• Ensure high-quality service by monitoring KPIs and staying ahead of market trends.
• Solve problems quickly to minimize impact of unforeseen circumstances.
• Drive a culture of change and innovation with a growth mindset.
• Oversee quality, delivery, performance, cost, and scope for cloud and web initiatives.
• Develop staff through coaching and performance plans; mentor future leaders.
