Job summary

Transamerica is seeking an experienced IT leader to drive web and cloud development across the enterprise. You will define technology vision, mentor teams, and work with executives to align delivery with business goals.

You will oversee enterprise architecture, lead cross-functional collaboration, manage budgets, and ensure high-quality solutions using modern UI frameworks and DevOps practices. This role requires a strong track record in large-scale projects, strategic direction, and coaching

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical field.
• Ten years of experience with database design techniques/philosophies, modern distributed applications, and microservices.
• Eight years of experience delivering large-scale design projects with cross-functional collaboration.
• Six years managing a diverse team and leading cross-functional teams.
• Strong background in DevOps methodologies, CI/CD, and architecture/strategy.
• Familiarity with modern UI development frameworks (Angular, React, Vue.js) and web technologies.
• Strong communication skills and customer focus; analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and leadership to development teams to deliver quality solutions.
• Interact with executive management to develop strategic direction for the department.
• Partner with senior leadership to translate priorities into defined action plans and milestones.
• Act as a strategist and champion for enterprise architecture and design principles.
• Lead whiteboard discussions and presentations with key stakeholders and enterprise architecture teams.
• Identify opportunities to utilize third-party frameworks, open source libraries, and APIs.
• Ensure high quality service by monitoring KPIs, controls, and market trends; stay current with technology.
• Drive a culture of change and innovation with a growth mindset.
• Oversee cloud and web development initiatives including budgeting and delivery scope.
• Develop staff through coaching and performance feedback; mentor current and future leaders.
